Introduction to the lesson Preface to the Mahabharata  The present lesson is Preface to the book "The Mahabharata" authored by C Rajgopalachari, the first Governor General of Independent India, popularly known as Raja ji. What we read here as "Preface to The Mahabharata" is actually a curated blend of the distinct prefaces of the work.  To better the information, I must admit that besides Kulpati's Preface, there are four more prefaces: Preface to First Edition,  Second Edition,  Third Edition, Fourth Edition and Sixth Edition. Preface to Fifth Edition is missing and Preface to Third Edition is very small because Rajaji does not find anything new.
